I'm sorry for the absence from this page!
Well, I've been quite busy with school and exchange program stuff…
Right after the previous post, which is about a family trip to Mt. Fuji, I had exams, and then 2 weeks later, I had a school festival, after the school festival, the last meeting for this year's exchange students was held, and next week, I'll have big exams coming up…
To sum up, I had no time posting random things here.
SCHOOL FESTIVAL
School festivals are the biggest event for Japanese high school students.
In my school, the first day of school festival is for students. The main event is called "Performance", where each class performs something. It can be anything for example, play, dancing, concert… As for this year, one class did dancing using K-pop songs, another class did a play about pirates etc. There were around 20 classes in my school, so basically there were 20 different performances.
What did we do?
It's hard to explain, since our performance is based on Japanese famous TV show called "逃走中". We did dancing based on this TV show. I really wish I could upload a video of it here, but it's not allowed :(
Anyway, the 2nd day of school festival is for students, parents and any visitors. On this day, each class decorates their main classroom and make it into something. For example, our class's theme was "Indiana Jones". So we decorated our classroom like jungle and we made a tiny roller-coaster out of newspaper! It's like a tiny version of attractions in Disney World. Other class did haunted house, selling food etc. It's all about having fun! :)
On the 3rd day, the results will be announced. It's based on votes from students, parents and visitors.
Like I said, there are around 20 classes in my school, and each class has been spending a lot of time preparing for this. It's not just a prize, it's our dream.
How did the results turn out?
Well…
MY CLASS WON THE FIRST PLACE FOR BOTH PERFORMANCE AND 2ND-DAY-EVENT "INDIANA JONES" :D
It was the first time ever in our school history that 2nd graders won both prizes. WOOHOO!!!
THE LAST ROTARY MEETING WITH INBOUNDS 2014-2015
